18 March 2012 | Innovation as a Journey
Why is innovation not a process? For me process implies something that is fixed and repeatable. It suggests a series of events that are arranged sequentially and that in every case this step by step approach is followed regardless of the desired outcome or result.
When created, these ideas generate a huge amount of interest and excitement but often die when a new batch of ideas come along.
The problem is that these ideas remain exactly that, ideas.
At August we have come to think of innovation as Economic Creativity™. Just having good ideas on their own is valueless, unless you know how, where and how quickly they will make you money.
We specialise in working with organisations to accelerate their ideas to market, something we refer to as ‘Getting Big Ideas to Fly’. As part of this innovation journey we focus as much on the concept or idea as we do on how and where it will work to deliver a substantial return.
